It seems that over the past year since the outbreak of the epidemic in China, foreigners have relaxed about visa extensions. (or stay permit), for the whole process in Guangdong usually took 15 minutes. There were no big queues:
- health code at the entrance
- copies of passport, visas, stamp of the last entry into China and a police registration
- photo on a blue background with an accompanying piece of paper
- fill out a form, give it in the window and in a week you have a passport with the next 30-60-90 days.
But starting Friday 20.05 everything went wrong. If you still have, in some unusual way, the business visa as the last one in your passport, it's time to think about applying for a job in local companies.
In addition to these documents, you urgently needed proof of your business, three people behind the counter, two play good cop and one plays a bad one. Screenshots will do, invoices, photos of your business say.
Monday things get tough, in addition to business activity, the evil cop suddenly demands an additional – statement of the balance of funds from Wechat or Alipay, plus a free-form letter about your business in China. Each piece of paper can be printed for you by employees of the copy company on the ground floor of the immigration office. (5 RMB per page) and all “guests of our city” go to print their evidence altogether.
And only after that, the primary cordon of the immigration department gives you a ticket for submitting documents to officers.
Expected, that similar questions will be asked by strict employees, directly, when submitting your package of documents, but at the moment, a procedure similar to all previous months has worked – papers are silently taken away, issue a ticket, when you can get the passport back.
The quest is not the most exciting, slightly disturbing or even nervous. Once again the output: it is worth taking care of the getting a working residence permit.
Topical rumors from the queue:
African girl attached a screenshot from WeChat with 12 yuan and she was told, that she will not see a visa with such a sum. Others report, that large amounts on the account can also raise questions. Other applicants were told, their valid visas for 10 years will be cancelled, but also 60 days will be given. Some have been told, they will only be given 15 or 30 days maximum. The English speaking front desk officer said, that the epidemic in China has long been in decline, therefore, they will ask for renewals as before, in full.
Good luck everyone in submitting your docs!
